Anxiety Counselling

You Are More Than Your Anxiety

Anxiety can feel all-consuming, the racing thoughts, the worry, the sense that something bad is always around the corner. Over time, it can quietly limit the choices you make, the risks you take, and the life you're able to live.

Anxiety is not a character flaw. It's your nervous system working hard to keep you safe, and with the right support, you can learn to work with it rather than against it.

THE APPROACH

My Approach

We begin with a thorough understanding of how anxiety shows up in your life, the situations that trigger it, the thoughts that fuel it, and the ways it has shaped your choices and relationships over time.

Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we'll work to identify and gently shift the thought patterns that keep anxiety in charge. Rather than fighting your anxiety, therapy helps you understand it, and build a different relationship with uncertainty and discomfort.

Progress is paced to what feels manageable for you. The goal isn't to eliminate anxiety entirely, it's to reduce its hold so it no longer stands between you and the life you want.

Treatment may include:

  • Identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns

  • Gradual exposure to feared situations at a manageable pace

  • Nervous system regulation and grounding techniques

  • Developing practical coping strategies for everyday life

  • Psychoeducation about how anxiety works

  • Collaborating with your family physician when appropriate

THE EXPERIENCE

What You Can Expect

Sessions are warm, collaborative, and grounded in what's actually happening in your life. There's no pressure to perform or arrive with everything figured out.

We'll work at a pace that feels right for you, making space to understand your anxiety before challenging it, and building tools you can use between sessions, not just inside the therapy room.

Over time, you'll develop a clearer relationship with your thoughts and a greater sense of confidence in your ability to navigate what life brings.

Take the First Step

Anxiety doesn't have to run the show. If you're ready to begin, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you, one step at a time.
